About: Perhaps the first Spirimon researcher since they were first discovered, Wood was captivated by the creatures and their particular interest in sexual contact with humans so thus began his research to tame them. He’s managed to tame a few Spirimon types but there are many more to study so he has entrusted his neighbor, Spiro, with his dream of “catching them all”.

Unlike Oak that is an old guy, Wood is a lot younger, and probably derived in this younger look in the manga. He still has the similar hairstyle and color, but his face has added stubble. Wood is also more muscular, while also possessing a round belly. Both are researchers of a fantastic creatures, and Wood being one of the first experts on his field is a reference to Oak being the first professor in the series. Both are also named after trees. His poses have him being kinky with first starters of the game, also including Pikachu. Unlike either Red [in the game] or Ash [in the anime], the one who he entrusted to search for more Spirimon is a parody of Raihan instead, which is Spiro.
