I mean obviously the kid was put through some heavy psychological sh*t only to wind up in the hands of another kind of predator – like I wanted a happy ending for him… but that’s not how life works out hennies! It was gripping and shocking & story wise… better than most of his other works. Like you can all tell me that I’m fked up for saying this – and I’ll agree with you – but this was good story telling. There are movies out there like: Megan is missing, that depicts almost the same scenario as this with a girl but it failed because the movie had no backstory or a plot twist that would draw the viewer in and make you care about the individual going through this hell… This manga did that where an hour long movie couldn’t. I guess what I’m trying to say is… North american storytelling is pretty god damn predictable and emotionless and bland & I’ve come to realize that these Japanese fkrs can spin circles around any damn writer in NA on shock value alone. That is what depresses me.
